So we aren't always very exciting but I do have a few updates for you mostly about my progress with the my New Years Resolutions/goals. Like I said before I have been breaking them down by months. Well my eat healthy has been going well to date I have lost 12lbs, not great but good=). Last month I started my "Try a new recipe at least once a month" goal, and I actually made 5 different things all new for me, and only one just ok the rest we really yummy. I'm not overwhelmed with my own cooking very often (not nearly as much as Chad is) But let me tell you these SOOO good. One I make quite often now for lunch or dinner for myself it's a noodle stir-fry and SOO easy. I have even modified it a little to make it more my "flavor" and I love it even more. I have pictures of the other 3. Here they are.....

This month I started 2 goals; exercise more and organize my scrapbooking stuff. We bought an elliptical machine today and it will be here Monday (Thank you IRS!!) and last night after several hours and a serious realization that I CAN NOT keep buying scrapbooking paper unless I actually use what I have. So now I have a box of stuff that's free to a good home because I can't bare to throw it away, and a promise with myself and my husband not buy and scarpbooking stuff except glue and card stock (and only if I don't have the right color to match my project) until the scrapbooking convention in November. (I really hope I can make it) or until 50% of what I have has been used whichever comes first. Here are some pictures of my 'improved' closet. Sorry there aren't any before pictures... actually no I'm not it was REALLY embarrassing.

Also I went to a baby shower at the end of Feb. for a friend who is having baby number 2 a girl and here is the Card I made.

The color for the babies room are pink, brown and a bright green, and the theme is butterflies, flowers and dragonflies. So I think I did a pretty good job. especially since I didn't know the theme only the colors when I made it=).

Getting crafty!!

These are the gifts I made for a dear dear friend of mine who I have known for probably close to 23 years!! She is about to have Baby number 2 and and made these for her baby shower!!

This one I didn't take very many pictures of sorry=(. The others didn't not turn out well and in this one it's kind of hard to tell. So I'll just tell you about it and you can use your imagination=). So on the invitation they called her shower a pre-birthday party and what is better for a birthday then cupcakes=). My amazing 'super woman' of a sister in law made some of the cutest socks crochet with beads (P.S. Danielle I had several requests from some of the women that want them in there size!! hehe) and I bought the cutest little onesie that had 3 cupcakes on it and it said "Mommy's little Cupcake" So I folded the the onesie like 3 times hot dog ways and placed the socks on the end and round them up together so the beads on the socks were sticking up out of the top of the roll so it looked like a cupcake with frosting then I took some paper that I had left over from a project where I had 'crimped' it and cut that to fit so it looked like a cupcake cup. I was worried that no one would know what it was suppose to be but when she took it out of the page she said "oh my gosh it's a cupcake!" So that made me happy=). Also the cupcake I cut out with my cricut=) and you can't tell in this picture but there are "sprinkles" on it too.

This idea I stole from someone else but I made it my own=). This is the lid. Of the pail. I cut everything but the flower with my cri-cut.

I actually added the babies name later. But I know how some women are about sharing there baby name and so I just took a picture before I added it so her name wasn't floating out in Internet wonderland=).

This is the inside of the 'Bath time pail' I found a large hooded towel she'll be able to use for a while, some soap, lotion and a hair brush and comb set

Well I hoped you enjoyed looking!! And wish me luck I am going to submit my work again in hopes of getting on Craft Warehouse's 2010 Design team. I didn't make it last year and if I don't make it this year I think I'll wait a while before I try again. And I can't show what I made until after the deadline is over but I do promise to share. Wow. It has been a LONG time.

So things have been a little crazy and I was having a hard time finding time to do all the updating that really needs to be done then I just fell further and further behind, so I thought I'd give a quick update and then really over whelm everyone this weekend when I have some more time to go through pictures and stuff.
So I guess since it is the first posting of 2010, I thought I'd share my new years resolutions with you and my plan=).
First the plan.... I decided that since every year I always make several resolutions (and this year is no different) instead of getting overwhelmed by them and eventually not making it till the end of the year I would break them down by months starting a new each month after making the one(s) from the previous months a habit. So far it's working out pretty well. I'm not overwhelmed and I am excited and have a plan of attack for next months goals=). I have also decided to call them goals as it is a happier word for me=).
So here are my resolutions/goals in no particular order (I'll share my month by month plans with you later) eat healthy (I will tell you I started that one already and I have lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks which is great considering I haven't started my exercise more goal yet.), exercise more, keep the house clean, organize my scrapbooking room, update the blog at least twice a month, watch less t.v., take more bubble baths, spend less money on stupid things so we have more money for important things, and last but not least try a new recipe once a month (have a ton of cookbooks no sense in letting just sit there.)
So there you have it=). I'll let you know if and when I need support or advise. Till this weekend.

OK here a a whole heap of house picture because a) I haven't got on forever b) I have been busy and c) I wasn't sure anyone was actually enjoying them. But I started and now I must finish. So here is one picture of almost all of the rooms left to show you. (The Laundry room, the Master and formal living room are missing because I haven't taken a picture of them since we finished them. But I will take the pictures tomorrow when the sun is out and show you)

This one is of the stairs and the little wall and walk way between the front door (on the left) the formal living room (where I was standing when I took it) and the living room.

The funny thing out of all the pictures I have taken this is the only one of the kitchen and you can't even see the Kitchen. I'll take a picture soon so you can see the whole thing.

This is the Guest room. I love the red but a word of advice for anyone thinking about painting red... spend the extra time and paint the one coat of dark color primer because even if you think you can skip that step and buy the paint with the primer already in it you well have to paint 5 coats! FIVE!!!! So spare your self the pain do one coat of dark primer and then you should only have to do 2 of the red.

Today I thought I'd show you Kyan's room and the guest bath upstairs.

This is Kyan's room. Besides the entry way it's the only other room we didn't paint. There isn't a whole lot to tell you about these pictures other then.. Yes, his bed is on the floor. We haven't found a bedroom set that we like for him yet. The art should be put on the wall today and I will be getting a new window treatment some day.

This is the guest bathroom /Kyan's bathroom upstairs.
On this wall; as soon as I can find the right color green and a shade lighter blue (or darker I haven't decided) I'm going to put circle on the wall to look kind of like the shower curtain but not quite as busy.

Today I thought I'd show you my scrap booking/our office.=)

The first picture is from right after we painted the room. And while we were getting ready for the the delivery of our new bed. But this bed is actually in the Guest room now it just wasn't painted at the time and we didn't want to move the bed in there and then move it out again and the in again. Just silly to do so.

the 2ND is other before and the brown blog on the right is the book case.

the 3rd is of one of many spray painting projects=). There are two of these and the use to be brown and hang in the half bath downstairs and the Master bath. We had planned to buy some for the two bathrooms before we moved and were surprise the family left them but since they didn't fit what we wanted and we planned to buy some with door anyway instead of just getting rid of them I decided to spray paint them and use them in my scrap room.=)

Here you can see my scrap desk and our computer desk and one of my little cupboards.

Here under the cupboard on the right is my scrapbook bookcase. It has all my scrap booking books and quote books and all the binders I put together as well as my scrap paper bin and my scrapbook.

Here you can both the cupboards. P.S. Please excuse the mess I was in the middle of like 3 projects at the time. Also the blue valance thing is going to soon too. Chad put it back up after he finished painting even though it doesn't match and I can't reach to take it down myself so until I find/buy some roman blinds the blue things is going to stay.

Here is my bookcase! Yes the last 3 and a half shelves are ALL cookbooks/cooking mags. of some sort. (Don't judge me. You know you're a little jealous. I have recipes for EVERY occasion. he he)

Into the closet. Where most of my scrap booking stuff is. Sorry I didn't take a picture of the inside of the closet but I don't have enough storage in here (seriously I need one more small bookcase) so there is stuff ALL over the floor in there and I was to embarrassed to show you.

Here is the wall left hand wall with my quote my sister gave me. All that is left for this room is hang up some pictures and put out some my projects for display (some I just can't give way)

Of course I am talking about our house!! Since I have been promising forever that I would Add pictures of the house I thought today I really would. So here are some pictures of our house and the progress we are making to make it a home=). I'll do just the family room today and then I'll do my best to show you a room a day. That way I don't over whelm you with to many pictures.

I love this mirror! It was a wedding present from my Grandma and Grandpa Gray. I just was never a big fan of gold so I spray painted it!!

I like the white but I haven't decided if I love it I might take it brown but I haven't decided yet. I have also been thinking about buying a large picture easel for it because that corner is so deep it sits to far back and I want to bring it out a little more so when I get close up I can actually see in it =). Also the mantel has actually been updated since I took this picture but I haven't taken a new one yet. But I will =). There are still a few things this room needs but like I said it is a work in progress and someday (soon, I hope) I'll get nice curtains and get rid of those vertical blinds which I loath and we will finally hang the pictures. Hope you enjoyed the little preview.

There are many things I have inherited from my mother, my lips, my ears, my hands and her need to collect things. LOL. For those of you that don't already know I have a very nice collection of cookbooks and cooking magazines (not as big as my moms though)I'm sure mine is close to if not more then a hundred and the doesn't include the 3 books I have put together myself. But today I was going through my magazine basket; Yes, I have a magazine basket. It is where I put all the magazines I subscribe to after I have read them and when it starts to over flow about every 4-6 months, I go through the magazines and rip out all the ideas, recipes I like and then recycle the rest. Well Anyway I was going thought the basket today and putting the cooking magazines on the book shelf and I realized that I subscribe to a lot of magazines. So I thought I would share my realization with you and my little secret of just how many I subscribe to.

Forks!!

OK here are the ALL the picture from our trip! There are allot but it's ok because it's totally worth it!! =) Some of the pictures aren't mine they are Christian's and I 'borrowed' them (it's ok she knows I stole them) because both my camera batteries died while we were on the tour I did get to sneak one picture in every once in while before my camera would shut off but after a while it started getting really old. Anyway I hope you enjoy=)!! Sorry if they are out of order. Also, for those of you how have seen the movie I'm sure you are going to tell me "that isn't in the movie." I know! The movie was filmed in Portland because the film tax in Washington is apparently very high. They were going to film in Fork the crew was even there waiting but our lovely government would help out a low budget film and so they had 2 days to find somewhere else to shoot. Also Stephine Meyer actually went to Port Angeles, Forks and La Push before she finished Twilight. So when I tell you "it's from the book." it is fact the place that Stephine Meyer picked out. =) I know I learned it on my guided tour=).

A little taste of what is to come!!!

So my BF Christain and I went went to Forks, Wa this weekend. And let me tell you it is an experience I hope I never forget. It was a very long drive equipped with floating bridges, ferry rides, road construction and lots and lots of amazing views. Our first must stop place on the way to Forks was North Bend=)! And then Port Angeles were we eat dinner at Bella Italia and for those of you how have read Twilight and are wondering... Yes, they have mushroom ravioli on the menu, and yes I ordered it and it sooo amazing. But if you ever go and don't care for mushrooms Christain ordered tortellini with a pesto cream sauce that was to die for!
I think my favorite part of the whole trip was going to La Push (on our tour I'll tell you all about another time)and as you are driving around the corner and first beach comes into view for the first time ( dramatic pause as you picture the most beautiful in the world).....I want to buried right there because that was what I imagine heaven would look like. I am also happy and a little sad to report that for the wettest place in the continental US it never rained.
Well I'll post pictures as soon as I find the box that has the camera stuff in it. (Yes, we are still in boxes. Not very many put there are still a handful that need to be unpacked.)

OK so it has been a while since I posted anything on here and I'm sorry. We have been very busy moving and painting and soon I will post pictures!
So we have painted the family room, dinning room, kitchen, master, guest room, office/scrapbooking room, laundry room, powder room and Kyan's bathroom. We are finally all done painting and hopefully sometime this week at least one room will be completly put together.
Also this weekend I am going to Forks, Wa with my best friend Christian and I can't wait!! I'm sooo excited. It is going to be a blast to have girls weekend in the place where our favorite book takes place. I promise there will be lots of pictures to come!! Hope everyone has a GREAT week and I'll do my best to post again soon.

A little insight into the makings of me!

As you may or may not know I have a lot of secret passions; things I'm good at and things I REALLY wish I was good at. One of the things I wish I was good at is cake decorating. If I had more money, time and lived in a city that had a pastry school it would be my dream to go, but since I don't and when we lived in Bothell I did have the resources to go to Seattle for school, I just get to dream and admire other peoples amazing work! And today I thought I'd share some of my newest findings.

Ok these people entered a contest and from what I understand they got to pick the designs from a t-shirt company or pictures that the company uses (but don't quote me) and then they go to use there creative licence and interpret it into a cake. I'll show you the inspiration picture and then cake and you can see what I mean when I say these people are amazing and have an amazing gift. Also I will be the first to admit some are strange and very random but also very cool! I hope you enjoy them as much I do!

P.S. I finally figured out how to do a slide show so if it's going to fast just push pause and go through at your own pace.

My Decorating style!

SO I found this website http://www.sproost.com/ and you can go a take a test and find out your decorating style and let me tell you it's good=). I even had Chad take it and although we do share one style the others sounded just like him! How would have thought my husbands main decor sytle would be Hollywood elegance or Glam I don't remeber but still!! LOL anyway Check it out it was fun to take=).

You can take kid out of the country but you can't take the country out of the kid... or is your theme "you can take the kid out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the kid?" The clean lines of the modern softened by rustic /vintage elements is the perfect mix in your mind. And can we blame you? You've taken the best aspects of two popular designs and mixed them in a manner that appeals young and old alike. Materials
The material palette for urban country runs the gamut because of the two extremes being mixed. If you'd like to add deeper color choosing one accent wall is a nice way to do so. Or add depth by bringing color in at the accessory level. The best part about colorful accessories is that you can easily reinvent the space by simply changing the throw pillows to highlight your new favorite color.

I have no idea what I am doing really and am still leaning as I go so forgive me while I try to figure this out and I promise I will figure out how to get a picture on the header=). Also I'm feeling VERY craft and home decor inspired (probably has something to do with buying a house). So I'm sure for a little while you might see some of my projects or my inspirations or even my questions so keep looking I might need your help.
Also I REALLY need to look for a dinning room table so if you find one that isn't to expensive and preferably one that expands let me know, especially if it has chairs. The one we have was my parents when I was growing up and between 11 kids and 2 parents it isn't in the best shape and only 2 chairs made it so we have a table but only 2 chairs which was fine when it was just the two of us or when Kyan was in a high chair but not anymore. Now we have to pull up the computer chair so we can all eat together but pretty soon the computer is going to be upstairs so I'm sure you can see that problem. Well keep your eyes open. and I think I'll be garage selling and thrifting this weekend in hopes of finding one so cross your fingers.=)P.S. Let me know if you want to come!!!

I have taken far longer on the computer today then I really wanted so this will be my last one and I proimse to add pictures from the July 4th weekned but right now I don't have that kind of time =). But here are some cards I made the two that look like little kid cards I helped Alana make I didn't make them myself but she told me I could take a pictue to keep the idea. And I thought I'd show you all a picture of Chad's tattoo it's not finished he has to go back in 2 weeks to get the color added, but I'm not sure he's very excited about it. The other day he told me his arm hurt so bad he wanted to cut it off. Oh well=)! Happy looking!

4 years!!

Our Crazy little angel turned 4 on the 2nd and he had a GREAT day! So I thought I'd post a couple pictures of his birthday this year and his birthday 4 years ago. It was wonderful, happy and still a little bittersweet.

This is one of his many Bumblebee from Transformers gifts and he loves it he wore this to bed that night. LOL

I asked him to stop moving so I get a better picture instead he got on the floor and so I took the picture and it took me just a second to figure out what he was doing and laugh. He was transforming.=)

OK so I'll start with the most exciting news first and then add new posts to play catch up so you aren't overwhelmed!! We bought a house!! I'm soo excited! Here's the story!!
We went house hunting at the end of June after being super frustrated with all out other options and the first day we went to something like 9 houses and we feel in love with two of them! And the next day we decided to make an offer on both since one was a short sale and it could take months to hear back and there was an offer on the table for the other one as well. So we crossed our fingers and hoped everything would work out. Over the 4th we found out that we bought a house!! It was such great news!! So we haven't been telling anyone but my parents and Chad told his brother and parents, because of all the horribly bad luck we have been having I didn't want to jinks it. But since we should be hearing soon when our closer date is I thought I would tell everyone(or at least anyone who enjoys reading my rants. he he) I also decided to include some pictures that the people had listed online so you could kind of see the house! I'll post new pictures after we move in and paint!!

Our Annivarsary weekend!

Sorry for the overwhelming amount of pictures but this weekend was so amazing I never want to forget! We started the weekend by dropping Kyan off at Grandma and Grandpa Haggerty's, then we drove to Tulalip and went shopping at the Seattle Premiere Outlet mall(since check it wasn't till 4). The mall is right next to Resort and Casino were we stayed. We did some shopping got some great stuff and bought a soda for a wending machine with a credit card swipe thing!! I had never seen one before it was really cool! Anyway we check in to the Resort which has free Valet and Bell boy!! This had to be the nicest place I have ever stayed, it was amazing. It even had 24 hour room service. We eat at a restaurant called Tulalip Bay which was the nicest restaurant we have ever eaten at, it was beautiful. There was only one bad thing about our trip and that is the fact that although you aren't allowed to smoke anywhere in the resort you are allowed to smoke on the casino floor, which made the casino stink!! And then while I was playing the on the slot machine some lady sat next to me and was blowing her smoke right in my face!!

I'm sooo frustrated right now. If we make it though this home search with a house it will be a miracle. So we had a builder all lined up and we just about to get everything started I mean we had our lot all picked out all we had to do was write the check to reserve it and that fell through. And then we found a different builder and now we might have to back out and get out reservation money back! It's sooo irritating! So now we might go get a Realtor and buy an older house instead which is fine it's just so irritating I wish things would just get figured out already so we can move on either to a house or upgrade some of our things like new bedroom furniture. GRRR well thanks for reading my rant=)! Hope you all have a great week!

It had been sooo long since my last post. WHOOPS! My bad! Sorry, I have been soo busy this last month, I have been to two baby showers, one wedding shower, and three birthday parties. That means I have made six cards in the last several weeks oh wait the doesn't include the two I mailed for birthdays and the two I made for Mother's day! Chad thinks I'm crazy!! LOL so needless to say I have been pretty busy. And since my crazy weeks all just winding down I have been relaxing by reading the TWILIGHT series and I have been so engrossed I'm almost done with the last book and I started the first a week ago. My house duties are slacking but only because it kills me not keep reading my brain keeps saying "KEEP READING! I MUST FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS", in fact taking a break to write this is secretly killing me, but don't tell Chad he thinks I need to get a life since all I want to do is read LOL!! So, I thought I'd update you on what's going on..... nothing really!! LOL We were looking into buying/building a house and we had the lot picked out and all the features and even the bank we were going to with all picked but we needed some help with the down payment and stuff and well I'll spear you the bitter details (ok only I'm bitter) we are aren't going to get in our dream house, but it's ok we'll get into a house someday probably not for a couple more years but we're young and I think I can live here (god willing) without hurting anyone or myself(HAHA it's a joke) for that long, at least I REALLY hope so. Also I got my nose pierced, it's something I have wanted to do for a long time and I finally got the guts to do it. It didn't hurt even close to as bad as I thought it would. I think you are up to speed now LOL! I have enclosed pictures of a couple of card I made. Sorry I don't have pictures of them all I had put most of them in their envelops before I remembered to take a picture but you can enjoy the one I did remember!!

Here are some pictures from Easter weekend and this last week!

One of my oldest friends, had her son's 1st birthday party this weekend. This SWEET race car was parked out in the drive way! He wanted to get in SOO bad!

This was in his Easter basket. I found it at Fred Meyer! It's like a Mr. Potato Head where you can add parts except he is made out of play-do and you can make Spongebob any shape you want. Kyan asked for a circle and this was as close as I could get and still have him sit on the base without falling over!

So I didn't make the design team =(

Well there were 60 other entries and I wasn't picked, I'm a little bummed but there is always next year! On Friday Chad was telling Kyan that he needed to go to the doctor (he needed to have some blood work done) and Kyan being the sweet little boy that he is run into the bathroom and grabbed his 'boo boo kit'( it's a first aid kit for kids I got at Target. It's shaped like an ambulance and has band-aids and all the things you need only with kid appeal to make it go smoother. It even comes with stickers that say things like "Be nice, I have a boo-boo" and stuff like that) Well anyway he ran it get and brought to Chad and said "All better Daddy!" and started to open it and get the band-aids out! It was the cutest thing ever. He was convinced that he could make Daddy all better so he wouldn't have to go to the doctor, and Chad being the GREAT dad that he is, let him put a band-aid on his foot=)!! It really was the cutest thing I'd seen in a really long time!!

I am soooo excited I can hardly hold it in, we FINALLY got our date for Vegas so we are going July 29th!! We have a list of about a million things we want to do and see. I promise to tell everyone all about it when we get back.

Ok so I decided to be brave and I entered to be on the Craft Warehouse Design Team 2009. I'll find out on or around the 15th of this month. Due to legal rights I can't post pictures of my projects until them but I will!! So please, wish me luck this is the first time I have entered my scrapbooking work in to be judged and to honest I'm REALLY nervous!! So wish me luck, pray for me and I'll keep you posted.

Dandelions!!

Kyan and I were playing outside yesterday and he discover his first dandelion. For some reason our apartment in Bothell never had any!. Anyway as he sat in amazement at the flower and the fact that I said it was ok he could pick it if he wanted it. I got to thinking why is it as a child dandelions are like gifts from heaven? No one gets mad when you pick them, they are bright, they are EVERYWHERE they make great gifts for mom (I mean what woman doesn't love flowers) and when they seed they make the best "make a wish and blow" thing since the birthday candle.

As an adult they are more the a disease a parasite really, something that must be rid from our life's at all costs. I find myself wondering how many a Dad have spent hours and hours getting rid of the each year.

As a teenager I often thought to myself how lame I was to give them to my mom for Mother's Day or just picking one and giving it to her just because I was thinking of her. But now as a mother myself I find them to be a wondrous gift form God. Because I know that my son is thinking of me and knows I love flowers every time he give it to me. He'll have the sweetest little smile and so will I=).

So today if you see a Dandelion remember them through a child's eyes and smile! Like most things as an adult we forget what the finner things in life really are!! Have a wonderful day!!

MARCH 2008

To say March was an interesting month would be an understatement. Yes, this is our car and Yes those are burn marks. From what you ask? Well our caught on fire. FIRE!!!! Scary!!! Chad and Kyan dropped me off at a friends house because I was going to have lunch will her and her mom. We left right after Chad dropped me off we ended up at the same light together and I say that the car was smoking so I reached my head out the window and he said he noticed it to but what could he do. Well he drove back to his parents (about .25 miles really it's like 2 minutes apart). Well I'm in the car with my friend and I get a call from my mother-in-law (with Kyan SCREAMING in the background) saying I needed to come home because our car was on fire and Chad needed me. NOT A PHONE CALL ANYONE SHOULD EVER GET!! So they turned around ans took me back to see our hood looked like this and a fire truck was parked next to it!! Luckily Chad's parents had 2 fire extinguishers, one in the garage and one the kitchen well Chad's Dad lifted the hood (Brave man) and helped Chad put out the fire before the fire truck got there but they still had to check it out and make sure it would start on fire again!! It's a good thing they had an extinguisher because it could have been WAY worse like blow up worse they said! Scary!! Well everyone was ok (minus the car) Kyan was just scared because Daddy grabbed out of the car gave him to Grandma and ran back out, there was also a lot of panic around so that didn't help! Well anyway it was a Sunday and NONE of the car rental places in the Tri-Cities were open or wouldn't have anything till Monday. So Carrie (Chad's mom for those of you who don't know) was super sweet and drove us all the way the Bellevue.

Yes. It snowed in APRIL!!

Crazy snow!!

My parents invited to whole family to go to Seaside, the deal was all we had to do was bring our own food. So we thought it would be a great chance to hang out with the family (especially since at the time we were all living in different cities). So while not everyone was able to attend all of my step brothers and sisters had to work and couldn't make it. My oldest brother Chris, was planning on going but since he was the low end of the totem pole as we like to say and it was Spring break he was forced to work so that the other nurses that had been working long could take the week off. In fact come to think of none of brothers were there!! Than wasn't able to make since he needed to finish school but we did convince his wife Danielle, to come and she brought the kids. Jeremy didn't come because well I'm not sure but he wasn't there. Sarah wasn't there because her Spring break was the week before.. So it was my oldest sister Tanya and her family, Danielle and the kids, my parents and Chad, Kyan and me!! It was a lot of fun!! (this picture is were Chad and I went to dinner to get some crab, our rule you can't go to the beach and not eat crab!!)

On the way home we stayed the night in Woodburn so that we could go shopping at the Woodburn Mall! We stayed in a Super 8 and if you'll notice there are no pictures!! It was that scary!

MAY 2008

This was the play ground by the lake about 5 minutes from our house. I was our favorite playground it was hardly ever busy, there was A LOT of grassy space to play and tag and we always walked to the lake and looked at the duck and throw rocks in the water before we went home.

October 2008 I already had some pictures up so I thought I'd put up some that I hadn't before. These are he cousins and they came down to go trick-or-treating and it was Dylan's (the one in yellow) birthday and Lennon's (the one on the left) in a couple of days.

November 2008 For some reason I didn't take any pictures of Thanksgiving dinner (we even had two lunch with my family and dinner with Chad's) and I don't remember why I didn't because I know I had my camera. Oh well!

I don't have any photo's to post today. But I promise I'll put some up when things get a little more exciting! hehe!
Kyan finally got in to the speech therapist and things are going GREAT!! He has been twice already and will go once a week for a while. My dad has been taking us since we only have one car and Chad takes it to work. Kyan really enjoys the the therapist her name is Julia and she isn't much older then me or Chad, she is sweet and he loves the games they play. His speech has improved and he is SOO much better at expressing himself. But in true 3 year old nature he does get frustrated with her when she doesn't understand or when she pushes to hard but he's learning to say that he needs a break. So I'd say things are looking great! But I think Kyan's favorite part is hanging out with Grandpa every Wednesday morning. It works great for me too because his appointments have been at 8:30am and so that means we have to leave at 8, so to make sure Kyan has had his water, brushed his teeth, a piece of toast or cereal for breakfast and dressed in time I have to wake him up at 7am; which is a half hour before he normally gets up. And sometimes it hard to get him moving so I just tell him, "Grandpa's coming, don't you want to go with Grandpa to see Julia (or the doctor as Kyan calls her)?" and he yells "GRAMPA, DOCER?!?!" (that's Kyan for "grandpa, doctor" for those of you that don't speak 3 year old) and hurries over to do whatever I asked.
We celebrated Chad birthday a little early, ok not really celebrated it as much as made him a Birthday cake yesterday. Because starting tomorrow, February 1st, we are have a no sweets bet. For those of you who already know we did have one before but it was just for me beacuse Chad said I couldn't go one whole year without sweets and I said I could and you know what I made it 10 months but after my grandma passed away and I was very upset that I couldn't make it to her funeral, so I made Chad get me ice cream and I lost. But this time we are both doing it, and I think he'll crack before me. hehe. Ok I don't really know but we'll see.
Other then that there isn't really anything else to tell you. I have been filling most of my spare time with scrapbooking. Chad's been busy at work and Kyan has been busy learning and growing tall=). I'll keep you posted on any new information. Eat a chocolate for me on Valentine's and pray I don't crack=). Love you all!!

Update on Kyan's speech Therapy!

I'm a little irritated right now. The referral for the speech therapy went through and the insurance company approved and I was so excited when Kyan's doctor called and gave me the number to Kadlec Therapy and told us all the paper work had been sent in and all I had to do was make an appointment. So I called to make an appointment and guess what....... They told me they put us on the waiting list and to call back at the end of January because they were just now getting to the kids that have been on the list since October. GRRR Can you believe it?!?! I know there isn't anything that help the situation or make it move faster, but I'm finally getting this all straighted out and the insurance finally came through and now.... I have to wait!! I feel better just letting that out now! I just hope we aren't on the waiting list to long insurance said the referral is only good for a couple of months! Wish us the best and keep Kyan in your prayers.

So I thought while I had a few minutes I would updates everyone again, and give you proof that there was a LOT of snow here the other day.... because if you showed up today you'd never believe me!! As I am writing this it is currently 48 degrees outside and is the end of December!!! CRAZY!! And almost all the snow is gone. If you didn't believe in Global Warming before maybe you should start looking into it!!! HEHE This is a picture I took from the car when we were leaving the in-laws see all the snow!!!

Well besides all that Christmas was GREAT!! Kyan helped Daddy make breakfast before Grandma and Grandpa Haggerty came over to eat and open presents. Then we went to my parents house had lunch and opened more gifts, we hung out there for a while and then went to Chad's parents and hung out for a little while and eat leftover fondue from Christmas Eve. Kyan went to bed REALLY easy that night!! His cousins wore him out! On the 26th my niece was baptised and then we went back to my parents house and had a taco feed. They were some dang good taco's that's all I have to say! There were tamales, nachos and lots of yummy cookies. So we have a busy week and right now I'm glad to have such a wonderful family and glad to just relax at home for a little while, before Chad goes back to work.

Christmas Time!

It's my FAVORITE time of the year again! And although I'm totally against Christmas music on the radio or at the store before Thanksgiving I have secretly been listening since mid-November! But only when Kyan and I are here alone and he doesn't know the difference it's just music to dance to, or when I was making Christmas themed crafts!! But now that Thanksgiving is over I can listen all day everyday and no one gets to say a thing. It's GREAT! We put the Christmas Tree up the day after Thanksgiving. The house is very festive (I'll post pictures..well whenever I get around to taking some haha). I hosted a cookie swap on the 6th which was allot of fun! and I learned there are some things I will definitely do different if I do another one next year. I am also going to the Nutcracker with my mom tonight. I am sooo excited. I haven't been since I was a little girl, and I really wanted to go while we were living in Bothell but Chad wouldn't go with me and I couldn't find anyone else to go with me. So this year I called up my mom and asked if she would please go with me and I think she was more excited then I was! So I'll tell you how that goes. Other then that there really isn't any new news. Oh wait Kyan had his first ear infection the other day but he's all better now. And we are just waiting for the referral with the insurance to go through so we can see a speech therapist so cross your fingers that insurance doesn't take more then a couple weeks and everything goes well. Ok that's all the news for now. Hope everyone has a wonderful week and a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and safe New Year!!

We are finally all settled into our apartment! Hallelujah!!! We have never been happier! All the boxes are unpacked all the photos are on the wall, and we finally get to have some space to ourselves.
Kyan has grown so much over the last several months. He really looks forward to reading every night before he goes to bed which was always a painful drawn out process. He tells me all about his day and makes up every morning and says "Mornin, Mom" (Good morning, Mom). I don't think he's ever been happier! We go for walks almost everyday. (sometimes it's just to cold) and he LOVES to show off for anyone who comes over!. The other day he danced for Grandma Roberts and of course being the great grandma she is, she joined right it! Which I know he enjoyed more then when I dance with him! Grandma Haggerty came over last night and hung out with Kyan while we had poker night at our house and he was so excited all day, every time he heard a car lock (you know people lock their cars with the remote and it honks) he'd scream "Grandma, Grandma, GRANDMA!!" and I had to tell him that is wasn't grandma she won't be here for three more hours! Cracks me up! Well anyway that's really all that's new! Hope everyone is doing great and has a GREAT holiday season!

We are moving!!

We are finally moving out of the in-laws and into an apartment!! We couldn't be happier! We move the day after Halloween!! Kyan is REALLY going to miss Grandma and Grandpa Haggerty and being so close to Grandma and Grandpa Roberts (every time we drive close or go by on our walks he gets sooo excited and thinks we are going to visit and then when we don't he is VERY sad). We carved pumpkins on Sunday and as soon as I figure out how I'll put pictures up. Also Kyan is going to be Mario for Halloween and I thought he might be too young to care what he was but he is REALLY excited . I made the costume (ok I didn't make it, like from scratch make it, but I used stuff we had or stuff I bought at Value Village to make his costume) so I'll make sure I get LOTS of pictures!! Hope every one is have a wonderful fall season. It's my favorite!!
